What is GO2FA?

A second layer of security built into the OCPI protocol

GO2FA (Global Charging Two-Factor Authentication) is a patent-pending security layer that wraps the standard OCPI authentication flow with a real-time second-factor verification step.

Before a charging session is allowed to proceed, the user must confirm their identity through an external channel - making it virtually impossible for unauthorised parties to start a session using a stolen RFID card or token.

Validated → session starts with uninterrupted power. Failed or timed out → session is immediately terminated.

Mobi.e acts as the trusted gatekeeper, verifying the user’s token against a whitelist without real-time eMSP authentication.

Session Starts
Once the token is validated, the charging session begins immediately. The plug connects and power flows in milliseconds.

GO2FA validates the session in parallel. Success → session continues. Failure → session is terminated to prevent unauthorised use.
Why Mobi.e? Mobi.e is Portugal’s national EV charging network operator. It uses a whitelist-based token system without real-time eMSP callbacks - a common pattern in national roaming networks. GO2FA adds the missing security layer.
